Help
Shape the Future
Membership in the Southeastern Meat Association will give you and your
company a chance to shape the future of the meat industry in the United
States.
Even if you are a member of other organizations, you are invited to join
this dynamic association for the tremendous benefits you can receive.
Membership costs will be kept as low as possible to encourage participation.
Get Help or Get Involved - Committees
The standing committees, which make recommendations in vital areas of
the Association's operation, include Executive, Education, Regulatory,
Membership and Annual Meetings.
The committees work all year long to promote the general interest of
the Association and of its individual members.
New Technical Services Committee will allow you to get help from within
the membership or outside professional help if needed. Committee includes
industry consultants and university experts with expertise in:
- OSHA regulations,
- FSIS / USDA regulations,
- HACCP,
- microbiology,
- meat processing and
- food science.
Keep Up-To-Date
An Annual Meeting and numerous short courses are held each year to provide
a wealth of educational information designed to increase the efficient
operation of meat and poultry plants. Idea exchange among members, decision
making to establish association policy, and fellowship among friends are
goals of our meetings.
Monthly, the Southeastern Meat Association members will receive the news
bulletin (Southeastern Meat FAX), either through Fax or via access to
the web site. This news bulletin keeps members abreast of new and revised
regulations affecting the meat industry nationally and area wide. Interesting
information concerning individual members and other association news is
included in the bulletin.
